Helambu Trek

Helambu village is located in the northern part of the Kathmandu valley. It is popular for its cultural richness basically along with the natural panoramas and the vivid scenery. Helambu trekking goes through the forest region of the Shivapuri National Park. The starting point of this trek is a watershed area. After getting permit, you walk through the trekking route via Chisapani and Gul Bhanjyang. The challenging section begins with a long climb up at the Tharepati pass to reach the Melamchi Gaun. During the trek, you have a chance to explore the Sherpa culture, customs and try their distinct food. Instead of this, if you want to experience the Sherpa culture, you need to trek to the Everest region. They are unique Tibetan Buddhist’s traditions. Along with it, the views of cascading waterfalls and snow capped Himalayas as Dorje Lhakpa and  the Langtang region peaks entice you. Reaching Sermathang and Melamchi Pul Bazaar, it drives back to Kathmandu.
