The terrain initially poses a challenge as you traverse a glacier, but beyond lies a manageable path offering stunning views of the Khumbu Glacier and surrounding Himalayan peaks. While rocky in places, proceed with caution as you descend, gradually losing sight of the glacier below. After a good but bit earlier breakfast we take the trail leading up the Cho La Pass. As we climb higher, we spot Cho La Lake and see AmaDablam towering over nearby mountains to the south, while Cholatse rises in the west. The steep climb gets tougher with boulders, some of which we have to scramble over. The final part of the climb to Cho La can be tricky as the trail twists around a gap, marked by prayer flags and rocks. The views of towering peaks all around are stunning. The path down to Thangnak is long but not too difficult. We reach the edge of one of Nepal's longest glacier, the Ngozumpa glacier, and cross to find the second Gokyo Lake among a series of six. Further along is the third Gokyo Lake, where Gokyo Village sits by the shore, our stop for the night. Have a well-deserved dinner and relaxing ovenrihgt stay at the teahouse.

Returning to Gokyo, we have dinner and spend the night, reflecting on the awe-inspiring sights of the day!

After enjoying breakfast in Gokyo, we start the return trek towards Lukla. It’ll take a few days so first we follow the trail to Panga and head east towards the settlement of Na, which boasts a few tea shops. Our journey continues towards Kansas and Thare village. Following Thore and Konar, we trek through rhododendron, birch, and juniper forest for about an hour until we reach Phortse village. This Sherpa village offers captivating views of Thamserku peak, Tengboche Monastery, and the river valley. We enjoy a hearty dinner and spend the night here.

Enjoy a tasty breakfast at the teahouse before we start our trek back to Namche Bazaar. Today's trail is easy with some small hills. Along the way, we come to a junction where we can choose to go to Dole or continue to Namche Bazaar. We pick Namche Bazaar and walk around the mountain ridges, enjoying some of the last beautiful views of the Everest Himalayas before reaching Namche Bazaar. Familiar with the area, we check into the teahouse for the night, have a nice dinner, and get a good night's sleep.

After a satisfying breakfast, we start our trek by descending 800 meters from Namche Bazaar, similar to yesterday's climb. Despite the rocky and loose terrain, we prefer to move quickly downhill. Along the way to Monjo, we cross the river three times, enjoying the picturesque valley views. The weather remains pleasant, but clouds begin to roll in as we descend, and the temperature becomes milder. As we navigate through streams and encounter various ups and downs, we notice the limited flat land available for crops. Finally, we make the ascent back to Lukla, where we'll witness the bustling activity of helicopters at the airport in the late afternoon, while planes have already departed for the day. Have ur last Himalayan dinner and teahouse overnight.
